WHAT IS THE SAFETY TRAINING AND SKILLS INSTITUTE (STSI)?
STSI is an idea that came from the need to have up-to-date safety training in a timely and cost-effective manner. Many local businesses and agencies are frustrated with the expense and downtime associated with sending workers out of the area for training. Bringing an outside trainer in to deliver training can also be very expensive. One local company spent nearly $20,000 recently to import a special trainer.
STSI, a program at Peninsula College, offers short-term, safety training modules in a variety of areas. Our goal is to provide effective, cost-effective training customized to your company or agency. Our local instructors are authorized by OSHA to award 10-hour and 30-hour cards, and collaborate with the state Department of Labor and Industries (WISHA). By employing local talent, we offer a quick response to your needs.

We consider putting together any safety training that is requested. In many cases, the training is delivered at the work site.
