| The Family Literacy Program prepares parents to balance work and family. Parents pursue their educational and career goals while learning to be their child's first teacher. Specific components of the program are: - Adult education that leads to self-sufficiency. Students may prepare for the GED exam or work toward college-level reading and math skills.
- Training to prepare parents as primary teachers of their children.
- Age-appropriate education to prepare children for success in school and in life.
- Parent and child interactive activities.
Classes are 12-20 hours each week and are held in Port Angeles and Forks. Child care is available for infants up to 12 months. The program is free and you can enroll anytime. | | | For Peninsula College Family Literacy Program information and eligibility requirements, please call: | Laura Brogden, Family Literacy Coordinator (360) 417-6303 or toll free (877) 452-9277, Ext. 6303 | |
