 Training for In-Demand Jobs

With Customized Job Skills Training, you’ll learn practical job skills with a group of other motivated job-seekers.  This fun and exciting opportunity will prepare you to find the job you want and give you the tools to move up.

You’ll train in your choice of study area while developing other skills to support your family.  You can train in any of the following ares:

  • Office Skills/Computer 
  • Homebuilding/Carpentry
  • Nursing Assistant
  • Or training individualized to your interests -- call us for more information!

 

A Complete Training Package

Each training includes:

  1. Job Skills Training in an area of your choice
  2. A 4-week College Start class to prepare you for your program and Seminars developed for job-seekers like yourself. Learn to identify your strengths, become a master student, improve computer skills, understand the hidden rules of the workplace, and interview with confidence.
  3. A dedicated Job Developer/Student Advocate who will work with you to troubleshoot issues during school and help you find and keep a job after you complete your training
  4. Assistance with Books and Supplies
  5. First Aid/CPR, Food Handler's Permit and OSHA Safety Training for those who need it.

This training is available to

  • Parents receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and other low-income parents 
  • Low-income job seekers without children, on a space available basis.  To qualify for financial assistance you or your partner must be working at least 10 hours per week.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Some programs require at least a GED – some employers that we work with also require a GED.  So if you don’t have a GED we’ll help you put together a plan to get one.
  • Commitment: All of our programs require our students to attend class, complete assignments and participate.  You’ll be expected to commit to completing the program you choose.  We’ll help you do it but it will take your commitment and dedication to make it happen.

Cost – It’s FREE!

There is no cost – just your time and energy.

  2. Meet with Kim or Bekka or Annie. You will talk about your job goals and how we can help you make them a reality. You will be asked to fill out some paperwork to make sure that you are eligible for our financial aid.
  3. Get started in training.
