Academic Progress and Performance


Academic Alert
A student whose cumulative grade point average falls below 2.0 will be placed on academic alert.

Students placed on Academic Alert will be sent a letter that offers effective study tips and advises them to take advantage of college support resources and to meet with an advisor to develop an educational plan. Students may lose their ability to self-advise or carry a full course load.

Academic Progration
A student on academic alert who fails to earn a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 at the end of the subsequent quarter of enrollment will be placed on academic probation.

A student placed on Academic Probation will be required to complete an Academic Success plan with an advisor that outlines steps for improving the student’s academic performance. Registration will be blocked for a student on Academic Probation until the student secures advisor approval to enroll in specific classes. A student will remain on academic probation until the overall cumulative GPA is 2.0 or above.

Student will lose the ability to self-advise and may lose the ability to carry a full course load.

Academic Suspension
A student on academic probation who fails to earn a quarterly grade point average of at least 2.00 in the next quarter of enrollment will be placed on academic suspension.

Students who are placed on Academic Suspension will remain on suspension for twelve months. Students on suspension will be able to reenroll in classes only by appealing and obtaining approval from the Student Affairs Committee. Otherwise, a student may reenroll after a period of twelve months.

Prior to the 1st day of the subsequent quarter, students on suspension will be blocked from registration. Students who enrolled for classes prior to suspension will be administratively withdrawn, and tuition paid will be refunded.

Appeal for Academic Reinstatement

Immediate Reinstatement:

Students placed on Academic Suspension will receive notification that outlines the appeal process for Academic Reinstatement.
