Teachers
Nichole Harris
Nichole feels she has found her niche in cooperative schools. She has taken Early Childhood Education classes, has participated as a parent in both the Peninsula Preschool and the Pre-3 Cooperatives, has taught at preschools and toddler groups in Sequim, Port Angeles, and Umatilla, OR. She loves working with children and their families. She creates a fun, developmentally appropriate environment to allow children creative exploration and play while they grow and learn.
Maggie Garcia
Maggie enjoys working with children and watching them develop and grow. She feels children learn best through self exploration and interaction with others. Maggie has taught in Elementary Education and has also taught for Head Start in central Florida. She is a 1998 graduate from the University of Nebraska and has lived in the Port Angeles area for over a year now. She has two daughters, nine and four years old. She is in her second year of teaching for the Port Angeles Pre-Three Cooperative. Maggie is looking forward to getting to know the families and their children and is excited to be a part of the pre-three cooperative team.
Parent InvolvementAlong with bringing yourself and your child to class each week, parents are asked to:
- Act as a classroom aid, helping the teacher on a rotating basis with other parents.
- Bring a healthy snack for your child's class (also on a rotating basis).
- Attend and participate in parent education discussion and meetings.
- Participate in and support the fundraising activities of the Coop.
Parent Education is available at each session facilitated by an instructor from Peninsula College. Topics include child development, community resources, and other appropriate topics in parenting.
