The Pirettes dance program was developed in 2004 to expand the diversity of the athletic program and to provide entertainment for fans during timeouts and halftime of home basketball games, as well as performances at area high schools and community events. The program was expanded in 2007-08, adding male dancers nicknamed the Pirate Crew.
