Personality

Knowing yourself - who you are and how you prefer to live and work is an important component of the career-planning process.

Are you a people person who prefers a lot of action and interaction with others in your work environment?
-or-

Do you prefer a work environment where a great deal of activity takes place quietly within your head and has limited people contact?
Do you like to work with fact and figures-concrete information?
-or-

Do you prefer to imagine the possibilities of what could be?
Do you prefer to make decisions guided by what is right and what is fair?
-or-

Do you prefer to make decisions guided by how your decision will affect others personally?
Do you prefer a structured work environment where you pretty much know what to expect every day?
-or-

Do you prefer a more flexible work environment where you don't necessarily know what to expect every day?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI )® is a career assessment tool designed to assist you in determining your personality type as one of sixteen different possible types. This assessment can help you identify careers where you use your natural abilities. If you are a “people” person, and enjoy interaction with others, you would not select a career that requires you to be alone most of the day. This is an example of choosing a career that is not consistent with your natural preferences. You will be more satisfied with a career that fits with your personality and preferences. Click here for more information on the MBTI®.
