Peninsula College offers a variety of course delivery options to accommodate
your needs and preferences. These options include:
Traditional on-campus classes
Peninsula College offers both day and
evening classes, Monday through Friday. Weekend classes are also available
for some fields of study.
Alternative Modes of Instruction
Peninsula College offers alternative
methods of learning in order to increase access to college courses and
to provide more convenient learning options. Click
here for more information on Distance Learning. Learning delivery
options include:
• WashingtonOnline (WAOL)
Peninsula College offers online
classes through Washington Online (WAOL), a virtual campus of the
community and technical colleges
in Washington State. Online classes use “virtual classrooms” in
which students participate in classroom discussions, access assignments,
contact the instructor, ask questions, submit papers and take exams
via the Web. Click
here to visit the WashingtonOnline (WAOL) website.
• PC Online/WebCT
WebCT is a software platform for Web-based
teaching and learning. It combines a variety of tools, email, a bulletin board
system, quizzes, and class lessons into an easy-to-learn interface environment.
• Video Information
Home-based video courses in a variety of academic subjects. Sets
of video tapes are available to rent for the entire quarter, although
programs also are cablecast on Northland Cable System's channel
21. Mandatory orientation and exam sessions, optional review/discussion
sessions are scheduled in advance.
• Interactive TV (ITV)
Interactive Television
(ITV) uses videoconferencing technology to bridge the distance
between the Port Angeles campus and extended
learning sites in Forks, Port Townsend, and Port Hadlock.
