2008-2009 Application Process and Deadlines
Steps in the 2008-2009 Financial Aid Application Process To apply for all available federal, state, and institutional financial assistance, you must complete tasks 1-4 of the application process, and task 5 if applicable, by the deadline date. Read the instructions carefully. You are responsible for any problems resulting from failure to follow application directions or any problems resulting from failure to meet an application deadline. We strongly recommended that you submit your FAFSA to the Federal Processor AT LEAST 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO OUR DEADLINE DATE.
Task #1New students must apply for Admission.
Task #2Complete one of the following:
Task #3Submit your 2008-2009 FAFSA to the Federal Processor. The Federal Processor will process your FAFSA:
- in approximately 4-6 weeks if you submit a paper FAFSA
- in approximately 2-3 weeks if you submit a FAFSA via the web
After your FAFSA is processed, the Federal Processor will send you either a paper Student Aid Report (SAR) or a SAR Information Acknowledgement, depending on how you submitted your FAFSA and whether or not you provided a valid e-mail address on your FAFSA. If you do not receive your SAR within 6 weeks of submitting your application, call the Federal Processor at 1-800-4FED-AID to check on the status of your application.
Task #4After the Federal Processor sends the Financial Aid Office a copy of your processed FAFSA data, you will receive a letter from us explaining what additional documents we need to complete your file and/or what actions you must take. Please be advised that we do not expect to begin sending these letters for 08-09 until late March 2008.
Submit all additional required documents to the Financial Aid Office as instructed by the following deadline dates: - Priority deadline - May 30, 2008
- Fall quarter 2008 - August 18, 2008
- Winter quarter 2009 - December 10, 2008
- Spring quarter 2009 - March 6, 2009
- Summer quarter 2009 - June 1, 2009
Task #5If you plan to attend Summer quarter 2009 and would like to be considered for financial aid, you must complete and submit a Summer Quarter Supplemental Financial Aid Application to the Financial Aid Office. These applications will be available in early May 2009.
You are responsible for any problems resulting from failure to follow application directions or any problems resulting from failure to meet an application deadline. ***We STRONGLY recommend you submit your FAFSA to the Federal Processor at least two months prior to the deadline date!***
